I am extremely competitive, especially when it comes to friends. I want to be the smartest, the wittiest, the prettiest, the thinnest.

When I was "off" my diet, my self-esteem went downhill. I became extremely antisocial in those few days. When a friend would call me, I would ignore their phone call. Or, if I did happen to pick it up, I would make up any excuse I could think of on why I couldn't go out with them. When I am watching what I eat, and feeling the benefits of control, I feel much better about myself.

Today was an excellent day. I decided to fast, and all went as planned.

This is more of like... a side note; there is this new friend of mine that I am sort of interested in. Actually, he isn't really a friend of mine personally; more like via-association, a.k.a. he is my friend's friend. And, even though I really like him, and want to pursue something with him, I can't because my friend also likes him (she doesn't know that I like him too). Anyways, looking at the aspect of relationships, I feel like I would be much more confident and feel much sexier if I could be the size I'd like to be.

Baby-Steps


There was a lot of temptation to turn down today. At work, in the staff-room, someone brought in a Valentine's day cake, Valentine's day candies, and potato chips. Luckily, my will was strong today, and I was able to continue my diet. I had an orange for breakfast. An Odwalla smoothie for my afternoon snack. A salad with cucumber, split-pea soup and a few crackers for my dinner. I decided not to eat an evening snack because I had such a high calorie afternoon snack. Hungry-wise, I did fairly well.

Yesterday, Tuesday, February 10th, 2009:

I didn't do so great with drinking a glass or two of water before I ate any foods, but at least I stayed under 1200 calories. Baby steps, come on people. I had a half of a bran-muffin for my breakfast. A banana and a few crackers for my afternoon snack. A salad with cucumber and lemon chicken for my dinner. And, a few almond clusters and cranberry juice for my evening snack. My stomach didn't necessarily feel "hungry" throughout the day, but I did feel like eating. Mostly likely, I didn't drink enough water, and was more thirsty than hungry.

My ex-boyfriend just started dating this really hideously ugly girl. To simplify things, I'll just call "Tori," because she has an awkwardly long, masculine-looking face like Tori Spelling. Anyways, even though she is what I would definitely consider "freak-show" ugly, she has this super cute thin body! So, if I were to lose a few pounds, it would be no competition. As the bumper-sticker goes, "I may be fat, but your ugly. I can lose weight."

If You Fall Off, Get Back On...


Go ahead, binge you fatty. Go ahead, binge you fatso. Go ahead, binge you lard-ass. That is what you did this weekend, isn't it? Ate straight through your motivation, threw it away along with all the other junk you throw into that garbage of a body you have?

The worst part, you were doing so well. Didn't you feel a sense of control, a sense of accomplishment after being able to reject so many temptations? There was the staff-room, filled with doughnuts, but you were able to say no. There was the bag of chocolates that your co-worker left on the table for you as a farewell gift, but you were able to say no. And, then, to lose yourself over weekend of laziness only to gain more weight? Pathetic, that you would give that all up in a few moments of weakness.

Do you want this or not? That is all it comes down to. If there is a temptation, don't ask yourself whether or not you want to eat it, whatever it may be; but, do ask yourself whether or not weight-loss is something that you really want.

Do you want this or not? My answer is yes; yes, I do want this MORE than anything!

As cliche as it is, we were all taught from a young age that if you fall off that horse, you better get back on and ride again. I am determined, I can do this, I want to do this, I will do this.

Weigh In




Well, today was a good kick off for my diet plan. I maintained myself throughout the day by encouraging myself to drink a glass or two of water before I ate any foods. I ate very healthy today too! I had an orange for my breakfast. An energy bar for my afternoon snack. A salad with cucumber, tomato soup and a few crackers for my dinner. And, two small slices of cheddar cheese for my evening snack. The majority of the day my belly felt full and satisfied; however, I feel like I enjoyed the cheese a little too much and could feel myself wanting to eat more after I already devoured my two slices; however, I proudly resisted the temptation! Also, early today, a co-worker commented me on how I look like I have lost weight; which, made me feel a little better about myself. Comments like that really help because it is hard for me to notice when I do look a little thinner. But, regardless, I still have a lot of work cut out ahead of me!

The "Game"

Well, I found this... kind of like... "game"... from this girl's blog. The game is... like... to help motivate people like me; and, I really think it'll be fun! I am pretty competitive, which I definitely think will encourage me more!

Anyways, it goes like this:
